Evidence of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit’s intended learning outcomes
The program covers the essential themes of the differential and integral calculus of vector functions of a real variable and scalar functions of several real variables.

Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída)
A leccionação inclui aulas teóricas e aulas práticas.

Teaching methodologies (including assessment)
The lecture includes lectures and practical classes.
Theoretical classes are essentially expositive. The theorems are presented as well as examples and a strong appeal is made to the students’ geometric intuition.
In the practical classes exercises cards are solved, including exercises of application to varied areas of knowledge.
In this curricular unit the evaluation includes the following elements:
a) 10 homework assignments and a written test. The grade of the set is the arithmetic mean and corresponds to 40% of the final grade.
b) Compulsory final exam, to be carried out with the examination of the first period, lasting 180 minutes, and corresponding to 60% of the final grade.
The final exam note may not be less than 7,5 values. The weighting of 40% of the grades obtained in the tests will only be considered if the final exam grade is lower than the weighted sum. Otherwise, the final grade will correspond to the grade obtained in the final exam.

Evidence of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit’s intended learning outcomes
The methodology used calls for an active and continuous participation of the student. The systematic presentation of examples and counterexamples facilitates the understanding of concepts and develops geometric intuition. The counterexamples allow us to deepen our knowledge and develop a critical spirit. The use in the theoretical-practical classes of students’ proposals for solving problems contributes to create self-confidence and potentiates the development of competences for the application of knowledge in solving problems.
